Making back-to-school fun for everyone is the aim of a two-day event at the Howgate Shopping Centre.
Children can ease themselves back into the old routine at the Falkirk shopping centre with crazy-golf, face-painting, balloon-modelling and for the crafty, a chance to make your own school bag.
Each day one lucky visitor to the Craft Station will win a dream bag of back- to- school survival essentials, including Dr Dre headphones to block out the sound of the school-bell.
Parents can prepare to celebrate the return to the quiet life with three catwalk fashion shows with pupils modelling the best of school clothes and accessories. There will also be information on nutrition, health and after school clubs.
Margaret Foy, Howgate marketing manager, said: “Whether you dread it or can’t wait, everyone counts the days to the big red mark on the calendar. For both children and their parents it’s a special moment, particularly for those going to school for the first time or those going to the big school.
“It’s an important time for all of us in retail too. So, this year we thought we’d make a bit of a mini-festival of it. There will be lots of fun, but also lots of helpful information.”
The Back to School Fair at the Howgate runs today and tomorrow from 12-4pm. To find out more go to www.facebook.com/intohowgate
