Dunipace woman Christine Bell has received the prestigious Clean Up Scotland ‘Hero of the Month’ award in recognition of her tireless efforts in delivering a range of environmental initiatives locally.
A founding volunteer of the Communities Across the Caron Association (CATCA), Christine has, for a number of years, worked throughout the Falkirk district to help bring forward a number of local projects, including the Green Dog Walker scheme.
A longstanding volunteer of the Community Green Initiative, Christine works as a project officer for CATCA. In her role, she helps the organisation to implement a range of campaigns to cut carbon emissions in the area and develop a sustainable food initiatives in local schools.
Presented with the award at the annual general meeting of CATCA , she said: “I would encourage anyone who cares for where they live to get involved in helping to preserve, enhance and maintain their part of the world.
‘‘We are all responsible for our own little corner and a little effort can make a big difference to both people and place.”
