Driver sought after teenager knocked off bike

Police are hoping to trace a driver knocked a teenager off his bike in Grangemouth.

Officers are urging the driver of a silver Renault who was involved in a collision with a 14-year-old boy in Newhouse Road on Friday, March 4 to come forward.

It’s believed the man stopped after the accident and checked the boy was not seriously injured. When the youngster told him he was okay the man drove off again. Police say in these situations drivers must call them to report it.

The incident happened at a zebra crossing in the street at around 7.15am.

Sergeant Derek Simpson from Grangemouth police station said: “Fortunately the boy was unharmed, however, I’m today appealing for the driver to contact police immediately.

“I don’t believe he has driven off in an deliberate attempt to evade police however we do need to speak to him. As such I urge him, or anyone else who witnessed this incident, to contact 101 as soon as possible.”
