Draw your mum and win great prizes

IT’S that time of year again when we celebrate the real unsung heroes – MOTHERS, everywhere!

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and we’ve lined up a host of fabulous prizes that are guaranteed to put a smile on any busy, stressed out mum’s face.

All you have to do is get the children to draw a picture of their mum. The competition is open to all our young readers under the age of 16 with two categories: seven and under, and eight plus.

Every entry submitted will be featured in a special gallery in the Howgate Shopping Centre.

We will also publish a random selection of your drawings and paintings in The Falkirk Herald and if you get your entry in early enough you may even see it featured in our exciting ‘Love Your Mum’ supplement.

Readers of The Falkirk Herald and shoppers in the Howgate will then have an opportunity to vote for the drawing they consider best.

We’ve got some fabulous prizes to give away. The Howgate shopping centre bosses will give the winner in each category a £150 gift card that they can spend on their mum in any of the wonderful shops in the centre. She can buy some of the latest fashions for the new season, perfect accessories, perfume, make up or even something for the home.

And you never know, she might even buy a gift for her budding artist!

All the people who pick the winning entry in each category will have their names put in the draw for a £25 gift card.

As an added bonus, Stuart Crawford, owner of The Orchard Hotel, has agreed that each winner will receive a meal for a family of four in the restaurant.

So what are you waiting for ... get those crayons out and show mum just how much you love her!
