Falkirk’s first citizen, Provost Pat Reid, led the district in yesterday’s annual Remembrance Day commemorations.

He headed Sunday morning’s parade to the Cenotaph in Camelon Road for a service led by the Rev. Robert Allan of Falkirk Trinity Church.

Wreaths were laid by the Provost, Falkirk MP John McNally, Falkirk West MSP Michael Matheson, service organisations, schools and other groups and organisations from the community.

Throughout the day similar acts of remembrance took place at war memorials across the area, including Grangemouth, Denny, Bonnybridge, Larbert, Airth, Laurieston, Maddiston, Polmont, Shieldhill and Slamannan.
