There will be no Bible Study group for the next three Thursdays. Lunch box will be open every Monday for soup/sandwiches and home baking, all welcome. Girls Brigade meets on Monday at 6.30 p.m. Girls of school age made welcome. Crafty Cafe will be on Saturday, come along and learn a new hobby and enjoy and a cup of tea/coffee from 10 a.m.- noon. The Guild meets on Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. for a drama night. The Cafe @ the Cross will be held on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. The Guild coffee morning raised £450. Thanks to all who baked and supported this event.

Baptist church

The services on Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. will be led by the Rev. Norman Graham. Visitors are always welcome. The children and young people meet during the morning worship. Bible study groups meet this Monday to start a new study on the book of Jeremiah. Anyone interested in joining a group should contact the Pastor. Rainbow Hour for those over-60s meet on Tuesday at 2 p.m. for the fortnightly informal meeting and afternoon tea. New members, male or female, will be made welcome and transport can be organised if required. Parent and toddlers groups meet today (Thursday) and Friday at 9.30 a.m.

Citizens Advice

The bureau is located above Clydesdale Bank at 24 Duke Street, Denny, and is open today (Thursday), Friday, Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. A legal clinic is held every four weeks on Wednesdays by appointment only (4-5 p.m.). Outreach clinics are held at the Community Education Wing at Bankier Primary School today (Thursday) from 10 a.m. - noon, at Bridge Crescent Community Flat on Tuesday from 9.30 a.m. - noon and Denny Parish Church Hall on Wednesday from 9.30 - 11.30 a.m. Sessions to complete online benefit applications are held at the Community Education Wing at Bankier Primary School on Thursday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon and the Bridge Crescent Community Flat on Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. Telephone service (Citizens Advice Direct) available Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on (01324) 823118.

Credit Union

Savings are safe with Falkirk District Credit Union and low cost loans are available once regular savings established. Anyone who lives or works in the area within the boundary of Falkirk Council can join, junior savers welcome. Drop-in Cafe

The cafe was due to open on Friday, February 21, at the YMCA hall, West Boreland Road. Unfortunately, due to insurance problems, we have to postpone this for the time being. A meeting was held on Wednesday and a committee was created. We can now start fundraising and apply for funding from various sources. We hope to open the cafe within the next couple of weeks. Thank you to all the people who have supported us so far. Anyone interested in volunteering with the Drop-in cafe or want to donate items that we can pass on to those in need, please call 07581 789288.

Masonic Lodge

A regular meeting of Lodge St Andrew (Denny & Loanhead) No. 176 will be held today (Thursday). The business will include the master mason degree and visitors from Coulsdon Lodge are expected so a short harmony will follow. On Saturday, the senior members and widows annual treat will be held in the hall. Apologies regarding the return address stickers which in error were not included with the invitation. Office bearers and other volunteers should meet at the Lodge in good time to make preparations.

Glenwood Tenants

Glenwood Tenants and Residents Association is holding a 1960s/1970s evening on Friday, February 28, in Fankerton Hut at 7 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by David Bateman on guitar and keyboard.
