ILA Cafe

Thanks to everyone who came along to the December Independent Living Cafe in the Sensory Centre, Camelon. The Independent Living Cafe is open to everyone with an assessed need by Social Work or anyone who has an interest in disability. The next ILA Cafe is on today (Thursday), 2014 in the Forth Valley Sensory Centre, Camelon. Come along and enjoy a light lunch, meet old friends or make new ones. Bethany Hall

Koffee Time opens its doors at Bethany at 10 a.m. today (Thursday) where you can be sure of a welcome. We are approaching the end of our centenary year. We focus now on coming days in God’s will without forgetting His goodness to us in the past. Saturday, February 8 at 7 p.m. is the first of our Saturday evening rallies for 2014 when our guests will be ‘Harmony’ and Alex Ferrie will bring us the epilogue. This Sunday the services follow our normal pattern and the Bible Teaching at 11.50 a.m. will be brought by Jim Paterson. The Sunday Club meets at the same time to consider ‘The Big Question’. Tuesday’s After School Club meets on Tuesday, February 11 in Carmuirs Primary at 3.15 pm and that evening we meet for prayer at 7.30 p.m. followed by the next in our series of Bible Studies - Moses 5.

Parish Church

Sunday Service will be conducted by Rev Stuart Sharp, assisted by Ms Rhona McDonald. Church activities continue. The Church is taking part in Community Fair and looking for volunteers to man stall, at Carmuirs School on February 18 and Easter Carmuirs School on February 25 between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Further information is available at www.camelonparishchurch.org.uk

Bowling Club

The latest amount raised for Yorkhill Childrens Hospital last Friday is £2200. This is not the final count but a huge thanks to all who attended for a very worth while cause. 21 club winners last Sunday were Kathryn Burnett and Peter Kemp who share £180. Lowest scores were William Halliday and Kelly Wilson who receive £10 each. It is now only nine weeks till our opening and any new members would be very welcome.

Tai Chi Qigong

Camera Club

The group meets every Friday from 7 p.m. till 9 p.m. in the Scotia Room, Camelon Education Centre (the old High School). All welcome.

Aerobics class

An aerobics and toning class is held in Mariner Sports Centre, Camelon, every Wednesday from 7.30 p.m. Have fun becoming toned. Call Sheila on (01324) 634192 or 0785 9933877 for further information.

Mariner Bar

On Saturday, February 8, entertainment is Fraser’s Karaoke Disco. The fun starts at 9 p.m. till late. There is a domino competition every at 3.30 p.m. Entry fee £1 per person. There is a Valentine’s Day Party on Saturday, February 15, from 8.30 p.m. till late. Lots of fun, games and prizes.

Juniors Club

Bingo sessions every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday at 7.30 p.m. At the Tuesday session you can have tea, coffee or a soft drink, together with biscuits, cakes, etc, for a small donation. Entertainment on tomorrow (Friday) February 7, is provided by female vocalist Elaine Wallace. There is a bingo session at 7.30 p.m. and lasts for around one hour. There will be a Rab C Nesbitt Tribute Show on Saturday, February 15. Tickets are £5 and are available from the Club.

Treasure Chest

The weekly Treasure Chest of Camelon Juniors was won by Alex Campbell, who won the jackpot prize of £1150. Ticket was purchased at the Social Club. Next week’s jackpot will be £500. Next week’s draw will take place in the Social Club between 9-10 p.m.

Gaelic ceilidh

Falkirk Gaelic Forum and Falkirk branch of An Comunn Gaidhealach are hosting a family-friendly informal ceilidh at Camelon Bowling Club, 7.30 p.m., on Friday, March 28, 2014. Come along and you can chat, have a drink and find out about Gaelic in Falkirk, and if you want, you can bring an instrument, sing a song, recite a poem or tell a story (and it doesn’t have to be in Gaelic). ICT Forum

The Adult ICT Forum in Camelon Local Learning Centre are offering the following courses: Laptops for Beginners; Laptops for Intermediates; Digital Photography; PC Maintenance.The courses run for a period of six weeks with a duration of 2.5 hours per week and cost £35 per course.
