The Crafty Café takes place on Saturday from 10 a.m. You can come along and take part in various crafts or just enjoy the café and chat. There will be a visit from Denny Library and a chance to listen to some young talented musicians. The Presbytery messy church event ‘Easter Cracked Open’ takes place in The Howgate shopping centre on Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and features stories, games crafts etc. Denny Old will be making Easter cards and if you would like to help or would like more information please speak to Irene or Stuart Rennie. The Palm Sunday Service is at 11 a.m. and will be led by Sandra Mathers. There will be crèche facilities and the Sunday Club meets at the same time. The Lunch Box is now taking a two week break for Easter and will be back on April 13. The Girls’ Brigade meets on Monday at 6.30 p.m. and is open to all girls of school age. Holy Week services are as follows: Monday Dunipace, Tuesday Denny Old, Wednesday Baptist Church, Thursday Westpark, Friday Baptist Church. All services begin at 7.30 p.m. The Walk of Witness will leave St. Alexander’s Church on Good Friday at 10.30 a.m. All intimations for the Sunday service to be with Janet Rhodes by tonight (Thursday) at the latest.
Worship on Sunday will be led by Isabelle McMillan at 10.30 a.m. Kidzone take part at the start of the service then move to the halls to enjoy their own activities. Creche facilities are also available. The Wednesday Welcome is open from 10 a.m. for fellowship over tea or coffee followed by a short service from 11.15-11.45 a.m. Please note the Open Door is open from 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today (Thursday). The Point youth clubs meet tomorrow (Friday) at 6 p.m. for juniors and at 7.30 p.m. for senior pupils. The services on Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. will be led by the Rev. Norman Graham. Visitors are always welcome. The children and young people meet during the morning worship. Holy week services commence on Monday in Dunipace Church. Tuesday will be in Denny Old Church, Wednesday in the Baptist Church, Thursday in Westpark Church, which will include communion and back to the Baptist Church on Good Friday. All these combined services commence at 7.30 p.m. The Good Friday walk of witness commences at St Alexanders Church at 10.30 a.m.
Denny YMCA have organised another disco for children in primaries one-four. Takes place tomorrow night (Friday). To book a place leave a message on the Denny YMCA Facebook page.
More residents have joined the Denny and District Neighbourhood Watch, which includes Dennyloanhead, Stoneywood and Fankerton, but more volunteers are needed. The group receives updates each month from community police officers and other groups and offers advice against cold callers. For more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. A regular meeting of Lodge St. Andrew, Denny & Loanhead, No. 176 will be held tonight (Thursday) at 7.30 p.m. when the business will include the second degree to be worked by Lodge Polmont No. 793. Last Saturday, the lodge hosted the annual gathering of St Andrew lodges. It was a great day with 137 brethren attending the meeting which featured the first degree being worked by reigning masters from the gathering lodges. An excellent buffet followed and in the evening Gaburlunzie provided a superb cabaret. Details of the free children’s Easter party will be on the noticeboard at tonight’s meeting and can also been seen in the bar on Friday.
