Woman robs Grangemouth taxi driver

A taxi driver was left badly shaken after being robbed of cash by his female passenger

Police in Forth Valley are investigating after last night’s incident in Grangemouth.

It took place at around 10pm in Loanhead Avenue after the 68-year-old male taxi driver picked a female passenger in the Charing Cross area of the town.

She threatened the driver and robbed him of a sum of money.

The suspect is described as a white and aged between 16-20. She has red hair and was wearing a light coloured hooded top over a dark blue top, along with dark blue jeans.

Detective Inspector Jim Thomson of Falkirk CID said: “Although not injured, this incident has the left the driver badly shaken.”

“We would ask any witnesses who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the Charing Cross or Loanhead Avenue areas of Grangemouth between 9.45pm and 10 pm on Thursday night to come forward and contact police.
