Woman prison officer seriously injured in Glenochil prison attack
A female prison officer attacked in a cell at Glenochil prison, near Alloa, on Thursday night is said to have suffered concussion and broken ribs after being punched and kicked.
The alleged culprit is also said to have used a television set to attack a male officer who tried to stop the assault.
The Scottish Prison Service has said the officers were in a cell carrying out normal duties at the time.
A police inquiry has now been launched.
