A woman has died after being hit by a train near Falkirk Grahamston

A woman has died after being hit by a train near Falkirk Grahamston train station this morning.

The female was struck near the busy commuter station at 7.40am by the 6.39am Perth to Edinburgh service.

Edinburgh to Dunblane services were suspended and trains between Glasgow Queen Street and Falkirk Grahamston were terminating at Cumbernauld.

All services are now back to normal.

A spokesperson from the British Transport Police said: “The woman was stuck and killed and it was reported at approximately 7.40am.

“There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances.”
