Constable Niall MacKinnon from Grangemouth Police Station, along with pals from Forth Valley Kettlebells, took on a one-hour kettlebell snatch and marathon relay to support FDAMH – Falkirk’s Mental Health Association.

The event at The Kelpies on Saturday aimed to promote understanding of mental health and in memory of PC MacKinnon’s late colleague PC Rhiannyd Hitchcock who committed suicide in 2014.

Niall hoped to raise £2000 for the charity to help it continue work with those in need of assistance, however, overwhelming public support saw the team collect an incredible £3100.

Niall said: “Together, acting as a team, our 33 lifters raised 146.538 tons of steel above our heads but more importantly raised awareness and over £3100 for FDAMH.

“The day could not have gone any better.”
