In the last day or so Falkirk Callendar Park Estate’s Canada Trail, which is an easy route, suitable for most cyclists, has been blocked with a variety of materials ranging from fence posts to barbed wire.

There are fears cyclists could be badly injured if they fail to spot the debris.

One concerned walker, who stated he was going to report the matter to police, said: “I'm aware this has been happening frequently over the past few months with others posting photos in local biking groups.

"Clearly this was done with intent to cause injury – if the intent was to prevent access to the trail then the entrance would be blocked rather than the exit at the bottom of the small, steep section.”

Police Scotland told The Falkirk Herald the matter had not yet been reported to them.
