Warning to Falkirk district residents over scam callers claiming to be from EE
There have been two incidents in the Forth Valley area recently where members of the public have been contacted by someone pertaining to be from mobile service provider EE.
Police say that during these calls the caller has successfully gained bank details.

Hide AdFollowing the incidents, officers in Forth Valley have issued a warning via their Facebook page urging people to follow guidance if they receive any cold calls.
The guidance to be considered is: hang up; if they pertain to be from a legitimate company, hang up and search the company details from a legitimate source and call them back; and do not provide them with any personal details, passwords or bank details.
The warning comes at a time when mobile users are receiving a scam text message, claiming to be from EE.
An example of the text reads “[EE]: We were unable to process your latest bill. In order to avoid fees, please update your payment information” and then provides a link to a website.

Hide AdIt has been confirmed by the phone provider to be a phishing message.
Forth Valley police advise that if you have been the victim of a scam, or are looking for advice in relation to scams you should contact them by calling 101.
