Communities Along The Carron Association (CATCA) has spent the last year researching, designing, raising funds and consulting on the installation of the new interpretation for the path network.

Five signs were installed last week at the Carron Dams, Dorrator Bridge, the Lade, the Viaduct and the Mulloch.

A CATCA spokesman said: “We are utterly disgusted that, 72 hours after its installation, the panel at the Carron Dams has been removed from its frame and the frame snapped in half.

“This has caused over £1000 of damage and, as a voluntary community group, this is no small sum of money to us. These signs were designed to enhance the local environment and draw people into the local green spaces.”

CATCA is a group of local volunteers committed to the regeneration of the River Carron, its communities and adjacent land and works together with councils and

various agencies to help improve water quality and the wildlife habitat along the Carron, as well as develop education, culture and heritage projects.
