Van struck by objects thrown from bridge onto Forth Valley motorway

A vehicle was struck by objects thrown by a group of youths from a bridge onto a motorway in Forth Valley.

The incident took place at about 9pm on Saturday on the M80 near to Junction 9 Pirnhall Interchange.

The Citroen Berlingo van was travelling at approximately 70mph.

Police say “three youths” were seen by a witness on the bridge at that time.

A spokesperson said: "Unfortunately the witness was unable to identify any persons on the bridge. The only description was three youths.

“Fortunately there was only damage caused to the windscreen of the vehicle, however, the consequences of these actions could have been much worse.

“If anyone witnessed this incident or can identify any persons involved, contact us on 101, quote reference 3190 of January 9, 2021.”
