Thug refused to come quietly when police came calling

It would be fair to say Stewart McInroy (25) did not want to go with the police who turned up to take him in.

Appearing from custody at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday, he previously pled guilty to assault, struggling violently with police officers and attempting to bite a female police officer in Grahams Road, Falkirk, February 12.

Procurator fiscal depute Gavin Whyte said: “Police attended the address to apprehend the accused at 9.50pm. He held up his arms and shouted ‘I’m no’ coming with you’.

“Officers took hold of the accused who resisted violently. He was restrained to the ground but continued to struggle, kicking out. He was carried to the cell of the police vehicle.

“When they tried to close it he kicked out with both legs, kicking a female officer to the body with both feet.”

The court heard McInroy, 8 Rae Street, Cowdenbeath, was completely intoxicated on the night in question and was suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. Sheriff Derek Livingston continued the case until September 1 to allow a social work report and a restriction of liberty order assessment to take place.
