Barry Cassidy (51), 27 Kilbrennan Drive, Tamfourhill, appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday, having previously admitted assaulting the woman by striking her head, pushing her to the ground and forcefully removing an engagement ring from her finger at a Laurieston home on February 12, 2018.

He’d also admitted assaulting a then 13-year-old boy that day by pushing him and hitting his head.

The court heard Cassidy had had trouble engaging with a court order.

Sheriff Derek Hamilton said: “These orders don’t have an optional element to them.”

Cassidy was jailed for six months.
