Solicitor told offender not to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court

A thief was advised not to turn up at court last Thursday and the sheriff quipped that made it more difficult to place her in custody.

Shannon McIntyre (24), 10a Parkview, Stonyburn, had already pleaded guilty to stealing items and assaulting a man in B&M in Stockbridge Retail Park, Linlithgow on May 20, 2017.

She was supposed to turn up for a review of her community order but her solicitor advised her not to come.

Sheriff Derek Livingston fixed a further review for April 15.
