Between May 6 and 9, a ladies’ bike was stolen from a garage at Allan Court and, on May 19, a child’s bike was taken from a common close in Bowhouse Road.

Then, overnight on May 20-21, three more were stolen from a driveway at Bo’ness Road. It is believed a vehicle was used or more than one person was involved.

Sgt Andrea Campbell said: “It is likely that these thefts are linked. We are appealing for witnesses or anyone who has knowledge of those responsible.

‘‘I would also encourage people to take extra care and secure their property in a locked area or with a chain. This simple security measure is often enough to deter anyone from stealing.’’
