Sandwich thief avoids jail sentence
A sheriff refused to jail a serial shoplifter who stole a £2.35 sandwich.
Duncan Marshall (44) appeared from custody at Falkirk Sheriff Court yesterday (Wednesday) having pled guilty to the theft he committed at Falkirk Tesco on May 25. Marshall, of no fixed abode, had been remanded in custody for two weeks. Sheriff Derek Livingston deferred sentence for six weeks and released him on bail to be of good behaviour.
