Polmont offender lashed out with sink plug inside a sock

An inmate struck a fellow prisoner with a sink plug tucked inside a sock after words were exchanged following a game of cards.

Liam Reilly (30) attacked Jamie McIntosh at Polmont Young Offenders Institution as the prisoners transferred from the recreation area to their work detail.

Reilly, whose address is listed as Polmont YOI, appeared from custody at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday, having pled guilty to the assault he committed at the YOI on September 14 last year.

Sheriff John Mundy sentenced Reilly to nine months in prison to run concurrently with the sentence he is already serving, which has a release date of November 21, 2021 at the earliest.
