Police have issued a warning to shoppers and traders in Falkirk district after a number of attempts were made to use counterfeit £50 notes.

Several businesses based in Central Retail Park in Falkirk reported the issue to police last weekend.

Sergeant Andy Angus has urged firms to safeguard against the scam and said: “Local businesses are requested to check all notes carefully and use checker pens if they have them.”
