Police in Falkirk issue just one fine for lockdown breach

Only one person was issued a fixed penalty notice for breaking lockdown rules in Falkirk in the last week.
That’s according to the latest figures issued by Police Scotland on the use of emergency coronavirus powers.

Hide AdDuring the week, from May 14 to 20, officers locally issued just one fine, compared to 11 in the previous seven day period.
Across the district during this period eight people dispersed after being “informed”, while a further three moved on after being “instructed” to do so by officers.
There were no arrests for those not sticking to the government restrictions in Falkirk during this period.
Throughout the lockdown period Police Scotland have been thanking people living and working in Falkirk for their ongoing commitment to slowing the spread of Covid-19 by staying at home and sticking to physical distancing guidance.
