Officers will be based at the Lidl car park in Links Road from 9am until noon this Friday to share top tips as part of Operation Christmas – an annual initiative designed to keep shoppers, traders and everyone else as safe as possible.

It will see police carry out high-visibility patrols across Falkirk district’s town centres and work alongside officials, businesses and others in a bid to cut crime.

The initiative involves a number of organisations, including The Howgate shopping centre, Falkirk Delivers, the Scottish Ambulance Service and Falkirk and District Community Safety Panel.

Operation Christmas officers will also make sure members of the public comply with Covid-19 restrictions.

Chief Inspector Chris Stewart said: “I would ask everyone to play their part and comply with the restrictions this festive period in an effort to keep everyone safe and reduce the spread of the virus across Falkirk.”
