Police forced to close off road in Bainsford as angry residents protest over alleged paedophile

Police responded to a mass gathering of residents in Bainsford last night demanding the removal of an alleged paedophile from their street.

The incident began just after 6pm in Carron Road and people began posting live online videos from the scene.

Police arrived a short time later and temporarily closed off the road to traffic as residents screamed “get him out, get him out”.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6pm on Tuesday, 9 June, 2020, police attended at a protest in Carron Road, Falkirk. The group was dispersed and the road was re-opened around midnight.

“A 51-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection and is expected to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court today.”
