Chief Inspector Chris Stewart, Falkirk Area Commander, said: “Over the previous few weeks there has not been an increase in calls or incidents reported to police for the High Street, in fact the number of incidents reported to police has reduced slightly.

“It is recognised that the High Street is an integral part of the community in Falkirk. It provides a range of facilities for all sections of the community.

“It is therefore a priority for me that people feel safe and want to visit the High Street.”

Although the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions have meant there has been a decrease in the number of people in the town centre, officers carried out regular patrols of the area and are yet to receive reports of “significant concerns”.

Chief Inspector Stewart added: “Officers will continue to patrol the High Street and work with local partners to ensure any concerns or issues are addressed.

“I would encourage the local community to call us if they witness or experience any anti-social behaviour or associated criminality.”
