Police arrest five following three violent crimes in Grangemouth

Three violent assaults in Grangemouth resulted in three separate victims being rushed to hospital and five people being arrested and charged.

Three men, aged 29, 30 and 38, and two women, aged 27 and 30, have been charged in connection with serious assaults which took place on Tinto Drive on Saturday, February 27, and Islay Court on Monday, March 1 and possession of an offensive weapon at a property in Lumley Place.

During the February 27 incident, a 38-year-old man suffered a serious injury and was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment and the March 1 incident saw a 34-year-old man taken to hospital.

The three men and 30-year-old woman were also charged in connection with a disturbance in Cultenhove Crescent on Sunday, February 21, during which a 31-year-old man sustained a serious injury and was taken to FVRH.Detective Inspector Craig Higgins said: "There is no place for violent behaviour in our society.”
