Offender broke bail conditions by contacting 14-year-old girls

A 22-year-old man forbidden from having any contact with under 16s had online chats with two girls – one as young as 14 – and met another youngster in person.

Stephen Craig, 18 Bankhill Court, Grangemouth, contacted the youngsters on Snapchat and later met another girl, who had her picture taken with him and posted it on Instagram.

Appearing at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday, Craig had previously pled guilty to breaching his bail conditions – put in place in March 12, 2018 – not to have contact with under 16s without adult supervision, on November 4, 2018, February 4, 2019 and February 22 last year.

Craig was arrested on March 25, 2019 in relation to the breaches of bail.

Sheriff James MacDonald said: “This is an offence now which is of some vintage but still relates to proceedings which are ongoing in the High Court.

He deferred sentence on Craig for six months to March 11, 2021.
