Christopher MacDonald (34) hit the woman so hard she not only called the police following the attack, she also called an ambulance. Her forehead was so swollen, she was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment.
Appearing from custody at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday, MacDonald had admitted the assault to injury he committed in Brooke Street, Grangemouth, on October 27, 2018.

Hide AdNhabeela Rahmatullah, procurator fiscal depute, said: “The witness called the police and an ambulance and they saw she had swelling to her forehead. She was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital, however, there was no serious injury.”
The court heard there was a “background between parties” and they had been neighbours for a period of time. There was “ill feeling” and “neighbourhood differences” and alcohol was involved.
It was stated MacDonald did have a record for violence, but had not been in trouble since this offence in 2018 and before that he had not come to the attention of the courts since 2013.
Sheriff Christopher Shead said: “You do have a bad record for crimes of violence and this is another one.”
