National back-up helps police tackle Denny incident

Three men have been detained by police following a disturbance in Denny this afternoon.

Officers were alerted after a man was seen entering a Vauxhall Zafira with a number of others in West Boreland Road at around 3.45 pm.

The vehicle was later traced in the town’s Glasgow Road and local police, supported by national resources, attended the scene.

The 38-year-old victim suffered non life-threatening injuries and was treated at Forth Valley Royal Hospital before being released.

Officers are not thought to be looking for anyone else in connection with this incident, however anyone with information relevant to the ongoing investigation is asked to contact police.

Falkirk Area Commander Chief Inspector Damian Armstrong said: “We believe this to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public.

“I would like to thank the local community for their patience and support while we were in attendance to deal with this matter.

There was a police presence in the town late into the night and a helicopter was also spotted in the area although it is unclear if this is related to the earlier incident.
