Having previously admitted a failure to appear at court on November 3 last year, Campbell, 22 Bridgend Road, Avonbridge, turned up at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday claiming his fear of open spaces had led to the delay in him completing the 200 hours unpaid work segment of his community payback order.

Sheriff Derek Livingston noted a report which stated Campbell often liked fishing and going for walks in the country and asked how he could do that if he was agoraphobic.

He was told Campbell had not “entertained country pursuits” for the last year and was now on medication.

Sheriff Livingston deferred sentence until August 25 for a medical report to be made available.
