Police became concerned for her safety after she became separated from her parents at Polmont train station last night.

The girl, who it is believed gave a different girl’s name, turned up alone at the Cadgers Brae Premier Inn around 9pm seeming to be disorientated and worried.

She said she was from Aberdeen and had an aunt in the Falkirk area called Karen Wells, but later ran away from hotel staff.

A post on the Forth Valley Police Facebook earlier this morning stated: “We’re pleased to confirm that the young girl who turned up alone at the Cadgers Brae Premier Inn around 9pm last night has now been reunited with her family.

“A big thank you to everyone who came forward with information and who shared our appeal.”
