John McGarry’s top featured a notorious song 1980s American hip-hop group NWA.
McGarry, who is serving a 20 month sentence in Low Moss Prison, was wearing the item when he was brought up from the cells at Falkirk Sheriff Court today.
Sheriff Derek Livingston ordered McGarry, who was handcuffed to a G4S security guard, back downstairs.
He said: “It is completely unacceptable, and close to contempt, to come into court wearing something like that.”

Half an hour later McGarry was brought back into the dock with the t-shirt covered up by a tightly-zipped, modest grey cardigan.
McGarry (28), of Falkirk, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a bail condition imposed last year requiring him to sign on regularly at Falkirk police station.
Depute fiscal Samantha Brown said he had failed to do so on February 8 this year.
He was sentenced to a further 60 days imprisonment, but Sheriff Livingston ordered the extra time to be served concurrent to the sentence that McGarry is already serving for “a variety” of offences, meaning it will make no difference to his expected date of release, currently in February 2017.
Sheriff Livingston made no further order or comment regarding the t-shirt.
