Man remains in hospital after attack by youths at Larbert rail station

An investigation is underway after a man was attacked at Larbert railway station on Friday.

The incident occurred around 10.30pm and involved the 46-year-old victim who it is understood was waiting for a train to Edinburgh.

He was attacked by up to six youths and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment where he still remains.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers received a report of an assault at Larbert station at 10.51pm on October 20.

"The victim sustained several broken ribs requiring hospital treatment.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and any witnesses are asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 and quoting reference 722 of 24/10/23.”
