Man charged with biting and trying to headbutt police in Falkirk

A man has been charged with assaulting three police officers, among a series of alleged offences.

The 27-year-old was arrested in Wooer Street, Falkirk yesterday in connection with a number of incidents.

He is alleged to have bitten one officer, struck another in the face and repeatedly tried to headbutt a third member of the force.

The man has also been charged with: stealing a handbag in Callendar Square, Falkirk; carrying a screwdriver with intent to commit a theft in Mission Lane, Falkirk; entering a car with intent to steal the vehicle; attempting to defeat justice; resisting arrest; and threatening and abusive behaviour.

A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
