The 15-year-old, dressed as Peter Pan character Tinkerbell with zombie face make-up, was walking in the Main Street area of Brightons near Lawrie Park when she was approached by a male last night between 5-6pm.

The man was in possession of a wooden handled knife with a blade around four to five inches in length, which he presented at the girl.

A red car then approached the scene prompting the man to put the knife in his pocket and walk off towards Station Road.

The male suspect is described as being in his late twenties or early thirties, around 5ft 8in in height, slim build, short, possibly ginger hair with gingery blonde eyebrows.

He was wearing a yellow top with a black waist length jacket and a red skip cap.

Police say they are keen to speak to the occupants of the red car, with five doors, who are potential witnesses to the incident.
