Man (29) seriously assaulted in Grangemouth's Zetland Park

Police are now appealing for information after a man walking in a public park was attacked with such force his jaw was broken.

The assault took place in Zetland Park, in Grangemouth, back on Wednesday, March 25, but it was not reported to police until April 21.

Officers have now gone out to the public for help. Detective Constable Gavin Grant, from Falkirk Police Station, said: “On April 21 we received a report of this serious assault that took place on Wednesday, March 25. Between 8pm and 8.30pm on that day a 29 year-old man was walking through Zetland Park in Grangemouth when he was approached by a group of youths.

“One of the male youths then seriously assaulted him which resulted in him receiving hospital treatment for a broken jaw. The youth responsible looked to be between 16 to 17 years of age, was of slim build with an earring in each ear.“There were around five males and four females in the group that approached the man in the park and we are now working to identify them and trace the man responsible for the serious assault.
