A man has been left seriously injured after coming off the motorway and crashing into a pipe yesterday.
The 50-year-old left the eastbound carriageway of the M9 at junction 4, near Polmont at 3.30pm and sustained serious but not life threatening injuries. He was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital and police are now appealing for witnesses .
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police in Forth Valley were called following a report of a road traffic collision at Junction 4 of the M9.
“The incident happened at around 3.30pm when a Mitsubishi Lancer left the carriageway before striking a pipe.
“Enquiries are currently ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
