Larbert man who demanded entry to woman's home learns his punishment

A man who hit and kicked doors and demanded entry to a woman’s home has been placed under supervision.

James McCroary (33), 45 Broomage Crescent, Larbert, behaved threateningly in Merchiston Gardens, Bainsford on June 16, 2019.

He then breached a bail condition by contacting the same woman the next day.

Speaking at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday, McCroary’s defence solicitor, William McIntyre, said: “He’s been of good behaviour since and reconciled with his partner.”

Sheriff Derek Livingston said: “There’s a suggestion he’s been less than truthful about his intake of substances.

“It’s quite a reasonable report despite the fact he has been less than honest about his use of drugs and alcohol.”

McCroary, who was previously remanded in custody for breaching bail, will be supervised for two years, during which time he must attend drink and drug counselling as an alternative to custody.

He was also ordered to complete 60 hours of unpaid work in one year.
