Hallglen thug jailed after trying to steal alcohol and assaulting Denny Co-op worker

A drunken thug who assaulted a shop worker after being caught trying to steal alcohol has been jailed.

Staff spotted Kenneth Barr (31), 23 Beauly Court, Hallglen, attempting to take two bottles of Courvoisier Cognac – worth £28.50 each – from the Co-op in Denny on Tuesday night.

He then punched and kicked an employee as staff tried to restrain him.

Police were contacted and Barr was arrested.

He appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Wednesday, pleaded guilty to theft and assault and was imprisoned for 330 days.
