Grangemouth thug repeatedly punched woman on the head and body

A violent offender who attacked a woman and spent over a month in custody will be spending his nights confined to his grandparents’ house for the next nine months.

Conner Buchanan (19) appeared from custody via video link at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday having been found guilty of assaulting his partner by repeatedly punching her on the head and body to her injury, stealing a mobile phone and behaving in a threatening manner in Kingseat Avenue, Grangemouth, on November 25.

The court heard Buchanan, 27 Marshall Street, Grangemouth, had spent 39 days in custody.

Sheriff Derek Livingston placed Buchanan on a supervised community payback order for three months, and a restriction of liberty order meaning he has to stay at his grandparents’ home in Camelon between 7:00pm and 7:00am for the next nine months.

Buchanan was also made subject to a non-harassment order not to approach or contact the woman he assaulted for the next five years.
