Grangemouth offender's 'cry for help call' breached court order

A man called his former partner to find out if their relationship was “definitely over” and breached the non-harassment order put in place to prevent him contacting her.

It was stated the “blatant breach” of the order was a “cry for help” from Alan Sneddon (42) and one last ditch effort to see if he could get back together with his former partner.

Sneddon appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday having admitted breaching his non-harassment order not to contact his former partner in Grahamston Crescent, Bo’ness on December 1, 2019.

Murray Aitken, defence solicitor, said: “He wanted to phone her to confirm the relationship was definitely over. It was a cry for help and one last hope the relationship could be rekindled.”

Sheriff Derek Livingston stated it was also a “blatant breach” of the non-harassment order.

He fined Sneddon, 12 Jackson Avenue, Grangemouth, £420 to be paid back at £100 per month.
