Grangemouth man to discover punishment after bail breach

A Grangemouth man who breached a bail condition is due to learn his fate this month.

William McPhee (32), of 214 Kersiebank Avenue, was made subject to a 7pm-7am daily restriction of liberty order at Falkirk Sheriff Court on March 20, 2020.

However, he breached that court order by failing to answer his door to police who attended within the specified hours to enforce the curfew on September 4, 2020.

McPhee was scheduled to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday for a review of a community payback order but failed to show.

Defence solicitor Murray Aitken said: “At the same time the order was imposed, he was sentenced to a period of imprisonment for six months for other matters.

“His release was due at the end of December.”

Sheriff Derek Hamilton said the case had called on December 24 “for a breach”.

Matters were continued until February 18 for a further review and progress report.
