Grangemouth man appears in court over assaults on former partners

A man who assaulted two former partners has appeared in court.

David Gilfillan (34), 71 Kingseat Avenue, Grangemouth, repeatedly punched one of the women on her body and struck her head with his hand on various occasions between August 1, 2008 and July 14, 2010 in Stenhousemuir.

He then punched another woman’s leg on January 5, 2018 in Bonnybridge.

Addressing the initial incidents, procurator fiscal depute Rebecca Scott said: “The accused began to exhibit violent behaviour towards her. The accused is said to have on numerous occasions pushed her and slapped her.”

He was ordered to complete 150 hours’ unpaid work in six months and placed under supervision for 30 months.
