Sergeant Lyne Rushford, of the Community Investigation Unit based at Larbert, said: “Our enquiries into this matter are very much ongoing however anyone with information relevant to this investigation is asked to contact police immediately if not already done so.

“Although housebreaking and vehicle theft is an extremely intrusive crime there are steps that can be taken to better guard yourself against would-be thieves.

“This includes relatively straight forward measures such as ensuring that your windows and doors are appropriately secured before you go to bed. Thieves will always target ‘soft targets’ so our message is a simple one – make it as difficult as possible for them to access your property.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
