Falkirk residents' phones down after cable theft

Police are now investigating a theft of cables in the Falkirk area which left scores of residents with no landline phones this morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “ We are aware of a telephone landline outage in the Falkirk area, specifically Hallglen, Glen Viollage and Lionthorn, after the theft of cables from the area.

"BT services are on site with the expectation that services will resume at some point this afternoon.”

Anyone with information about the theft should call 101 quoting incident 2148 of October 27.
