Police in Falkirk have issued 11 issued fixed penalty notices to people flouting lockdown rules in the last week.

The figures were given in a weekly update from Police Scotland which has been given emergency powers to enforce physical distancing to help prevent the virus spreading.

These latest figures covered the week from May 7 to 13.

Across the district during this period 22 people dispersed after being “informed”, while a further eight moved on after being “instructed” to do so by officers.

There were no arrests for those not sticking to the government restrictions in Falkirk during this period.

Throughout the lockdown period Police Scotland have been thanking people living and working in Falkirk for their ongoing commitment to slowing the spread of Covid-19 by staying at home and sticking to physical distancing guidance.

Officers are urging communities to continue adhering to the restrictions to protect the NHS and save lives.
