Ryan Young (25) appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday having pled guilty to behaving in a threatening manner at his 27 St John’s Avenue, Falkirk on April 15 last year. He also admitted threatening behaviour and breaching his bail conditions in Glenbank, Glen Village on June 3, 2020.

Rachel Wallace, procurator fiscal depute, said: “The accused was seen to be aggressive towards a woman. He said ‘I’m coming for you’ as the woman was asking for her phone back.

“He refused to comply with this request and police were contacted.”

Young was arrested and placed in the police van. While on route to the police station he verbally abused an officer over the colour of his hair, and threatened him stating “when I see you in the street”.

On another occasion police were called to a property to deal with an ongoing disturbance.

“The accused was acting in a disorderly manner,” said the procurator fiscal depute. “He told police ‘I shouldn’t be here, I have got bail not to be here’. In the rear of the police vehicle he told an officer ‘take these cuffs off and your uniform so I can square go you – I will kill you’.”

Defence solicitor Stephen Biggam said Young was still in a relationship with the woman present in both offences.

“He becomes confrontational and lets himself down,” said Mr Biggam.

Sheriff Derek Livingston placed Young on supervised community payback order for 18 months and fined him £420 to be paid back at £100 per month.
