Jonathon Sadowski (24) was initially arrested for making a nuisance of himself in the street and then continued to act the fool while in police custody, trying to make a phone call and struggling with officers when they tried to take his phone away from him.

Appearing at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday, Sadowski had admitted behaving in a threatening manner in Meeks Road, Falkirk on November 16 last year.

Sean Maher, procurator fiscal depute, said: “Police officers attended at the address in response to a male causing a disturbance on the streets. He then became verbally abusive towards officers.

“Police officers asked him to relinquish his mobile phone. While trying to remove the phone the accused placed his feet against the cage and continued to struggle with police officers.”

Defence solicitor Simon Hutchison said Sadowski did not have a significant record and had just moved in with his girlfriend.

Sheriff Derek Hamilton was angry about Sadowski’s decision to flit when there were already moves afoot to assess the suitability of a restriction of liberty order at his former address.

Mr Hutchison said: “The former property is overcrowded.”

Sheriff Hamilton deferred sentence on Sadowski, 130 Abbotsford Drive, Bainsford, until December 3 to get a restriction of liberty order assessment at his new home.

"Let’s see if his girlfriend’s delighted to have him in the house much more than she expected,” he said.
